Communal Provisions at Oxford Social Club
At a restaurant, ordering a variety of appetizers is a great way to kick off a meal, allowing you to connect and share as a group. In a nightclub setting, our Communal Provisions offer the same sort of role, setting a convivial atmosphere of joy and festivity.
On the Oxford menu, you’ll find sections devoted to different styles of drinks, from “Champagne Wishes” to “Mules” (creative takes on the Moscow Mule cocktail) to “Long Drinks” to “Stirred and Boozy Drinks”. No matter your favorite style of cocktail, there’s something that will light your fire on our list!
But if you’re in a group, Communal Provisions are the perfect starter. These large-portion cocktail creations are ideal for sharing, and help you start out the night on a positive note.
So…what’s on the menu? Here’s the lowdown on our Communal Provisions menu:
Not totally clear on what sangria is? In the most basic terms, it’s an alcoholic beverage of Spanish origin with a melange of ingredients including wine, chopped fruit, and other flavorings. The ingredients are combined, allowed to sit for several hours to let the flavors combine, and then served chilled.
Within that basic definition, there are infinite variations for how sangria can be prepared and how it might taste. However, there are two key types of sangria: white wine sangria and red wine sangria.
Here are the types of sangria we offer on our Communal Provisions menu:
White Wine Sangria: Light and bright, our white wine sangria is made with white wine, Rothman & Winter Orchard Apricot, Cocchi Americano, and lemon. It’s a perfectly sweet and tart drinking sensation, and is guaranteed to leave you feeling happy and refreshed!
Red Wine Sangria: Red wine is divine in our red wine sangria! It’s made with red wine, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, and lemon. One thing’s for sure: you’re going to want a second glass of this stuff!
Punch: If you’re confused about what punch is and what it isn’t, that’s understandable. The term punch can refer to a pretty wide range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Generally they will contain fruit or fruit juice, but sometimes that’s not even the case!
Punch is said to have come from India. In fact, the term “punch” is said to be derived from the Sanskrit word pañca, which means “five”. This may refer to the fact that early versions contained five ingredients.
You’ll be pleased as punch (yes, pun intended) when you sample the Polish Punch on the Communal Provisions menu at Oxford. Made with 50 Bleu Vodka, Cointreau, lemon, lime, orange, blackberries, and strawberries, this beverage is sweet and refreshing…but it does indeed pack a punch!
Conclusion: If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to kick off a festive evening, look no further than the Communal Provisions portion of the drink menu at Oxford Social Club. These alcoholic beverages are large enough for a group, and feature crowd-pleasing flavors that will please a variety of palates. So go ahead: bring your friends and order our white wine sangria, red wine sangria, or Polish Punch…or depending on how big your group is, maybe all three!
